Abaya washing methods

Some designs reflect our Arab identity, especially the abaya, which distinguishes the wearer from the whole world. Once you see a woman wearing different designs of abayas, she knows her identity at the same time. The Arab woman wears abayas with confidence, keeping pace with the latest fashion trends, and thus does not miss the decency and dignity that suits her identity.

Accordingly, the designs of abayas depend on different types of fabrics, so we find it difficult to take care of them and clean them with different fabrics so that they do not wear out from the first use.

Learn today how to clean and wash abayas according to their fabrics.

Summer crepe abayas

Crepe fabric is one of the most popular and widely used abayas fabrics, because it is soft to the touch and comfortable, and it is also one of the durable fabrics that lasts a long time if it is maintained.

Crepe fabric is suitable for many designs of abayas.

Therefore, when cleaning abayas from crepe fabrics, take care of the following:

1. It is preferable to wash crepe abayas by hand using cold water

2. If you want to clean it with automatic washing machines, use the soft cloth programs with cold water and do not use automatic drying. Instead, you can put it on hangers and dry it with normal air.

3. When using the iron, it is preferable that it be steamed so as not to burn the soft crepe fabric.

linen abayas

Linen fabrics are one of the practical fabrics suitable for hot weather, as it is ideal for the summer and lasts long if it is preserved when washed. The problem with linen is that it is fast wrinkling and needs constant ironing.

Nevertheless, it is one of the easiest fabrics that you can clean, as it returns to its original shape after each cleaning.

To wash linen abayas, do the following:

1.Use machine wash with cold water, as hot water causes the linen to shrink

2. When drying the machine, make sure to take it out quickly so as not to further wrinkle it

3. Linen abayas should be kept with plenty of water, so avoid filling your washing machine with clothes when cleaning linen abayas and select the fastest spin.

4. The linen is ironed using a thin piece of cloth between your abaya and the iron to avoid shine.

velvet abayas

Velvet fabrics are one of what gives you a sense of sophistication and elegance, despite that, it is one of the fabrics that are easy to stick to hair and dust, and it also becomes flat over time if you do not take care of it with proper cleaning methods.

When cleaning velvet abayas, be sure to:

1. Wash the velvet abaya upside down on its inner side, as well as when ironing, placing a thick cloth between your abaya and the iron, as it is sensitive to heat.

2. It is better for the velvet abaya to use dry cleaning, especially silk velvet and viscose velvet.

3. When drying it, avoid using clothespins and placing them in the sun a lot so that their color does not fade or the tongs leave a mark on your abaya.

silk abayas

Silk fabrics are lighter in weight compared to other fabrics, so you should be very careful when handling and cleaning them.

Silk abayas need to be washed by hand without putting too many cleaning products, and if you resort to automatic washing, you should put them with light fabrics so as not to damage them, taking into account that they are placed on the lowest rotation levels.

When ironing, make sure to iron it upside down and use cotton cloth between your abaya and the iron.

The methods of cleaning and washing abayas differ according to the different fabrics, so it is better to know the type of fabric of your abaya before washing and cleaning it, whether manually or using automatic washing machines.

Some fabrics wrinkle easily and some lose their color and luster when washing, so choosing the best way to clean your abaya remains your priority when washing abayas.
